Frequently Asked Questions

That’s actually where most people start.

You might know you want to bring everyone together for something meaningful — but the destination, the timing, the kind of experience — that’s all still fuzzy. That’s fine. That’s part of what the first conversation is for.

We’ll ask the right questions, listen carefully, and help turn what you’re imagining into something real.

Compared to booking a single hotel room, yes.

But that’s not the right comparison.

Most groups need multiple rooms — and when you run the numbers, a private villa often costs less than booking equivalent hotel rooms separately. Sometimes significantly less.

On a recent fall family trip to Paros, six luxury hotel rooms were running $600+ per night each — over $3,600 per night, or $25,000+ for the week. The private six-bedroom villa — with an infinity pool, ocean views, daily housekeeping, a gourmet kitchen, and a private chef — came in under $13,000 for the week. Total.

And beyond the cost, the experience is completely different. Instead of being scattered across separate rooms and floors, everyone shares the same space — meals happen naturally, conversations last longer, and time together becomes easier and more relaxed.

For many groups, a villa isn’t just a luxury upgrade. It’s a smarter way to travel together.

Most travel planners start with the destination. We start with the people.

That one shift changes everything — the accommodations we recommend, the experiences we arrange, and how the trip feels once everyone arrives.

A few things that set us apart:

We use Travel Type Matching to understand how each person in your group actually enjoys travel — so the trip works for everyone, not just whoever did the planning.

Every home we recommend has been vetted and inspected beyond the photos — not just for beauty, but for how it actually works for your specific group. Whether grandma can navigate the property comfortably. Whether there’s fragile artwork within reach of a curious toddler. Whether the spaces genuinely support a group your size.

Every trip includes your own local concierge, an on-the-ground expert who reveals the destination from the inside, not the tourist version. Hidden restaurants. Insider access. The kind of stories you come home with that no one else has.

And the philosophy behind all of it comes from an unusual place. Paul Partridge spent years as a financial advisor helping families think about legacy — what they build, what they leave behind, and what truly matters over time. That’s when he started thinking about travel differently. Not as a vacation. As an investment in something more lasting.

We think of a trip as a wonderful type of heirloom. The heirloom in this case is not an object, it’s an experience. These experiences become part of a family’s story — retold, revisited, and passed down lovingly.

That’s what we’re here to create.

You certainly can — and many people do.

But there’s a real gap between how a property looks online and how it actually works once everyone arrives. In a recent Travel + Leisure interview, the CEO of Airbnb named their biggest customer complaint:

“This is not what I expected.”

That’s fine for a $300 weekend cabin.

But you only have one chance to get this right. When everyone is counting on you, do you really want to take that chance?

Every villa we recommend has been vetted and inspected — not just the photos, but the reality. And every stay includes your own local concierge to handle the details and shape the experience around your group.

The goal isn’t just finding a beautiful property. It’s making sure the trip works — from the moment everyone walks through the front door.

How we protect your trip

Not every beautiful villa makes our list. Most don’t.

Out of more than 15 million vacation rentals available online, we work with fewer than 2,500 carefully selected properties worldwide.

We start with exceptional homes in extraordinary locations — but beauty alone isn’t enough. We look for properties that genuinely work for groups: spaces that bring people together naturally, layouts that function for different ages and needs, settings that deliver what the photos promise.

Every villa also passes a rigorous vetting and inspection process — covering comfort, layout, accessibility, service standards, location accuracy, and overall guest experience.

Because the goal isn’t finding beautiful properties. It’s helping your group walk through the front door and immediately feel:

“This is exactly where we’re meant to be.”

Every trip includes your own local concierge — an on-the-ground expert who knows the destination from the inside.

But the real value goes beyond logistics.

Your concierge shapes the experience around your specific group — different ages, different interests, different ideas of a perfect day. Hidden restaurants. Insider access. Moments you wouldn’t have found on your own — and wouldn’t have thought to ask for.

Every group has people with different interests. Your concierge designs experiences around that — so a grandmother, a teenager, and a couple celebrating an anniversary can each have a remarkable day, without anyone being dragged somewhere they don’t want to go.

And if anything comes up during your stay, your concierge handles it immediately. No chasing owners. No language barriers. No wasted vacation time.

Instead of feeling like a tourist navigating a new place, you feel welcomed, supported, and connected — discovering the destination at its best.

Luxury used to mean thread counts and marble bathrooms.

It still can. But for most people planning a meaningful trip with family or close friends, the real luxury is something harder to find.

Unhurried time together.

Time that isn’t rushed. Days that unfold naturally. Conversations that stretch late into the evening because nobody has anywhere else to be.

A private villa creates the conditions for all of it — space to gather and space to step away, meals that happen on your schedule, experiences shaped around your group rather than a resort’s itinerary.

And access. The kind that comes from having someone on the ground who knows the destination from the inside — and can open doors that most travelers never find.

That’s what we mean by luxury. Not just where you stay. How it feels while you’re there — and what stays with you after.

Pricing varies based on destination, season, villa size, group size, and the overall experience you’d like to create.

Most groups we work with have 10–16 guests and invest between $25,000 and $75,000+ for the full trip — villa, concierge, and experiences included. Our villas typically start around $10,000 per week.

To put that in perspective: for many groups, a private villa costs less than booking equivalent hotel rooms separately — with far more space, privacy, and time together included.

Villa rental costs and any additional services are quoted clearly before anything is confirmed — so there are no surprises later.

The best group trips balance togetherness with flexibility.

Not everyone wants to do the same thing at the same time — and they shouldn’t have to. We design the experience around your whole group with our Travel Type Matching process. Grandparents might spend a relaxed morning at the villa while parents explore a nearby village and kids take part in a hands-on local experience. Everyone reconvenes for dinner — with stories.

The villa makes this easier than any hotel could. When everyone is under one roof, coming together feels natural rather than coordinated. People drift in and out of each other’s days without anyone having to organize it.

The goal isn’t a perfectly synchronized itinerary. It’s a trip where everyone — regardless of age or interest — comes home feeling like it was made for them.

After planning group trips for more than 25 years, here’s what I’ve found: the most successful ones leave room to breathe.

The goal isn’t filling every minute. It’s creating opportunities for connection.

That usually means one meaningful shared activity each day, plenty of unstructured downtime, flexible plans that bend without breaking, and meals together at the villa where the best conversations tend to happen.

The magic is often in the smaller moments — a spontaneous card game, a walk that turns into something unexpected, a conversation between grandparent and grandchild that wouldn’t have happened at home.

The best multi-generational trips rarely feel over-scheduled. They feel easy, relaxed, and shared.

The earlier the better — especially for peak travel seasons, large groups, and milestone occasions where the right villa matters.

As a general guide:

  • 9–12 months out: ideal for peak seasons, major holidays, or large groups with specific needs
  • 6–9 months out: still plenty of strong options available
  • 3–6 months out: doable, particularly in shoulder season
  • Less than 3 months: possible depending on destination and availability — worth a conversation

One thing worth knowing: the best villas book early. Once you have a date and a group in mind, that’s the right time to reach out — even if everything else is still fuzzy. That’s part of what our introductory conversation is for.

Many of our villas can include chef service, housekeeping, transportation, activities, wellness experiences, and other personalized touches that create an all-inclusive-style experience—while still offering the privacy, flexibility, and space of a private home.

For many groups, it feels more relaxed, personal, and connected than a traditional resort experience.

All of them.

We’ve planned trips for families traveling with everyone from toddlers to 90-year-old great-grandparents.

Each villa is chosen around your group’s specific needs—whether that means accessibility, privacy, quiet spaces, walkability, or kid-friendly features that help everyone feel comfortable and included.

While we don’t book flights, we help coordinate nearly everything else—private drivers, restaurant reservations, wellness services, local guides, tee times, special experiences, and day-to-day logistics.

Your concierge also serves as a trusted local point of contact should plans shift or unexpected needs arise along the way.

Minimum stays vary depending on destination, season, and property.

In general:

  • 3–5 nights during lower seasons
  • 5–7 nights during high season
  • 10–14 nights during major holiday periods

We’ll help guide you toward options that fit both your schedule and your group.

Cancellation terms vary by property and season. Most villas operate on a structured payment schedule, which means you’ll have time to finalize plans before the full balance is due.

We’ll walk you through the terms clearly before anything is confirmed — so there are no surprises later.

If flexibility is especially important to your group, we can help guide you toward properties with more accommodating terms.

We also strongly recommend travel insurance for additional peace of mind — particularly when coordinating multiple travelers and larger villa reservations.

Strongly — especially for trips like these.

When you’re coordinating multiple travelers, significant villa reservations, and experiences across an entire week or more, a lot can change between booking and departure. Travel insurance protects the investment you’ve made and the trip you’ve planned.

Coverage worth looking for includes trip cancellation and interruption, medical coverage abroad, emergency evacuation, and villa-specific cancellation protection.

We’re happy to connect you with trusted providers who specialize in high-value villa travel — and who understand the specific needs of group trips.
